David Lu's work crosses the boundaries among information design/visualization, interaction design, and software prototyping. His process is explorative and iterative, yielding results that are striking, thoughtful, and restrained. His commercial work veers toward the conceptual—he was once employed as a futurist at Microsoft, envisioning new interactions made possible by emerging technology. However, he occasionally engages in product-oriented ventures; one such endeavor saw unprecedented success and acclaim upon its release.

To David, craft, refinement, and execution are core values; he has been known to get his hands dirty in code to ensure a quality deliverable.
